Too Old ? ?

Thanks for the confidence building replies guys ;) I'm assuming a decent jacket, gloves and a helmet are the minimum to get started, I'll be storing it in my garage, do I need anything more to secure it ?

So, I've finally found a window to do the CBT and booked in for 17th July and hopefully getting the Lammy the week after.

Hope i don't balls up the CBT now

Well you have all made me feel less nervous and now even more giddy (if that is possible) Cheers for the support :D

Well I'm another step closer to 2 wheels, Mrs Fluffybob has just ordered my Lambretta V125 Special in black and I'm getting ruddy giddy now :D

Well I'm now CBT road legal, probably half a stone lighter (it was 30 degrees) but raring to get out on the highway on 2 wheels (which arrives on Friday)
Thanks for all the advice guys, I arrived ruddy nervous but was put at ease before we even went inside to begin. Loved every minute of the day despite being a sweaty mess by the end of the ride out.

How did you feel when you went out on the road for the first time?

Had you rode a bike before? I had a mini session before CBT so was comfortable with riding/gear changing etc before did CBT.
Nervous/excited/tense/angry at times, it gave me a whole new respect for bikers as the caution/awareness levels ramp up massively.
Only ever messed about offroad on mates bike but never on the road.

I feel like a numpty at times sat in traffic, may occassionally filter but I know my limits.

All about enjoying the ride but most importantly, staying alive.
Can't envision any over confident riding any time soon, just keep it simple and don't scratch the paintwork (or me)

Just a quick insurance query, I assume my bike licence would be UK provisional with only having my CBT ? It's not a very clear website and I want to get it right.

Well today is the day ! ! ! Insurance sorted and gear all sat waiting for the delivery man :D Should I consider any extra security in my garage and what do you guys recommend for security when out and about ?

Well, despite the best efforts of mother nature I've had a couple of rides out this weekend and loved every nerve jangling minute of it :D going to try a run to work tomorrow (13 miles of mixed country roads and busy town)

Smiling on the inside (honest, I was concentrating on not dropping it)
