Tool to capture images without image compression

Hello,

I want to save images online without it being compressed to a horrible quality.

How do I do this? I use Google Chrome as my browser. Is there an extension for what I need?

Because I am using the work computer, it needs to be a software with no admin rights so I can install it with no probs.

If its windows 7 just use the handy snipping tool.

Sorry - perhaps I wasn't very clear.

I do mean images on websites. When I "right click" on an image on the internet and "save as" the image quality of the saved image is not as good as the original image on the website.

All I want to do is save images from websites, but with an option as to what sort of quality I want to save the image as.

The quality you save them as is identical. No transformation of the image is performed when you 'Save As' using a browser.

How are you coming to the conclusion that the images are 'not as good'?
If you're loading them up in Windows 7's Preview app it could be that your colour profile setup is wrong. Try looking at the images using Irfanview or Paint.Net.

That's very strange! :confused:

When I try to save the image in this link as a jpeg (http://profeng.com/features/nuclear-clean-up/page:2 the black image at the top) the saved image quality is definitely not the same as the one in the website.

Something is broken in your colour profiles then. Try another monitor or monitor driver, I've had a similar problem before. Ended up just buying a nice new screen (was due one anyway)
