Hi,

Would anyone please be able to tell me if there is a tool that provides an easy way to flash Android 5.1.1 onto a Moto X Style that is currently running Android 6.0?

Thx

As above, there's no tool. You'll need to install fastboot drivers onto your PC, unlock the bootloader on the X Style (which will factory reset the phone in the process), and then find the correct ROM files and flash that while the phone is in fastboot mode.

Might be best to ask here for some more detailed help on the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/help

Thank you for your replies.

It sounds a bit too scary for me to attempt with my limited skills using mobile phones. l will swerve the joys of unlocking bootloaders and flashing ROM's to it.

If it isn't too rude can I ask why you would want to go back to 5.1.1?

It's a perfectly reasonable question to ask.

The reason is that I think that 5.1.1 has an SMS function that has been removed in 6.0. It is the option to create and edit text templates within the SMS app. My Moto X Style with 6.0 does not have this option but my HTC One running android version 5 does have the option. I might be mistaken in my assumption, however, I only use a mobile phone for calls and texts so any android version is OK for me provided it has the SMS app option for text templates.

As above, try a different SMS app. There's a slight chance the Moto X Style's SMS app will not have that feature either if it's not present in the latest update, both Motorola and HTC uses their own developed SMS apps.

As an EvolveSMS user I can tell you it does have the template feature.
