i have a bad upper tooth near the back of my mouth.

basically had a filling as a kid, been replaced a few times, but somehow or other it got really bad a year ago.

so i had an emergency root done (well, the first stage that is) which left me with a kinda hollow shell of a tooth.

anyway, lately it's been hurting and now the gum is imflamed a bit.

the dentist i just signed up with told me my options are basically to have it pulled (with possibility of spending on a bridge etc) or spend on root canal.

right now the costs of these things are pretty high for me. i don't want to have the tooth pulled but it seems like it might just be the best options. she said it was pretty decayed, didn't look too clever.

at least the rest of my teeth are looking pretty good right now, and it's next to the back tooth.

so i guess i could do with some advice on a course of action. maybe if anyone's had a similar thing happen you could give your advice.

cheers!

thanks for the replies all ;)

appreciate the humour, kinda what i needed anyway after trying to contemplate this.

mr hitler you're right, i didn't read the FAQ thouroughly enough, else I'd probably have not posted this. I won't post again for medical advice (even though I'm really glad I did..). So, sorry about that to whoever it concerns.

I think I'll take your advice on people, and probably have the little monster ripped right outta there. OUcher!

And they don't give you that crazy gass these days. :(

For anyone that hasn't experienced the stuff - it's completely raving.

' Right son, I'm going to administer the gas... count down from 10 for me... '

' Ok, 10.. 9.. 8... ohhh where's my body gone. i'm inside a computer game. zonk! '.
