Toothpaste as thermal paste

I've just dug out an old intel pentium d and applied toothpaste as thermal and I'm getting readings of 26c. How good is that? :eek:

I'm using AquaFresh. Now I've seen it works Ok I'm gonna use it on my new CPU until I can pick up some ArcticSilver.
 
I'm sure there's a web article I read once a few years ago testing house hold products as a replacement for thermal paste. Doubt any would work on the long term but some things did work without anything going bang!

Yeah, toothpaste lasts a few days, week at most. Of course you can't beat ArticSilver but for the short-team it works pretty damn good.
