Top 10 Most Difficult Games

3 - ninja gaiden series
2 - ghouls and ghosts series
1 - battletoads

i owned 3 of those games and have completed 2 of them. i finished f zero gx 100% and completed super ghouls and ghosts when i was a kid :D

also owned dmc3 but i lost interest after leaving it for too long. had quick goes of ikaruga and ninja gaiden and they did seem pretty hard

Is this console/computer games only?

If not Defender needs to be on there. F-Zero and Shinobi seem strange choices.

Plenty of shmups that could go on that list.

Viewpoint and Metal Slug also spring to mind.
 
I have to agree with Shinobi not deserving of that list, Great game, great platformer, But not particularly difficult.

Although I do remember those spinning statues being somewhat gruelling at the end of 1 of the boss levels.

I could always get A LOT further on Battletoads than I could on Ghouls and Ghosts. The boulder level on Battletoads always spelled game over. Never completed either game though despite many hours of gaming.
 
Battletoads was extremely hard, I remember getting stuck on that lift level where you climb up those silver platforms, swear it was the second level.
