I have said that all individual games have to be voted for, not series. But does anyone have any objections to all the 'Street fighter II's' being lumped together as there are litterally dozens and there are minimal differences between them.

Also, I was thinking of lumping all the 'Street Figher Alpha's' together (Although obviously seperate from the SFII's)

Any thoughts or suggestions of how to handle similar issues that come up are welcome

:)

I do, if all Street Fighter 2's were the same then there wouldn't have been so many versions, so it should be kept seperate (and the alpha's) for that reason.

As good as fahrenheit was, not sure it's in my top 5.

A problem with each person voting for their top 5 is that very highly regarded games might not get in. For example say that nearly everyone considers fahrenheit to be in the top 20, but very few of them think it's a top 5 game. Fahrenheit will barely register in the statistics, yet most people think it worthy to be in there.

Of course it would be crazy for everyone to come up with a top 100 of their own.

We've all had to leave out some exceptional games, picking just 5 is harder than you might at first think, but it is the easiest way to find the very best.

I also think the 5 you pick depends on how you feel, what time of day it, how much beer you've drunk etc etc.

Lol, Pick 5, write them down. Come back 2 weeks later and write down 5 again and see if they match. :)

I thought, at the time they came out, which 5 games have I enjoyed the much. Hence Ultima IV, not exactly a graphical masterclass, got into mine.

The criteria for a top 5 games list is decided by each individual, therefor you're vote for Ultima IV is just as valid as another person voting for GTA etc, as it is your list.

Exactly. Which is why it's so nice to see everyones personal 5.

Airwolf on the Spectrum nearly made it into mine. It's rubbish now, frustrating then but when I was 7 or so I loved it, obsessively :)

Why isnt anybody voting fahrenheit!!
Not to all tastes, plus there are plenty of better games out there to me personally, but it would make my top 15, maybe even 10.

Could you please ignore anyone who posts less than 5. If they can pick 1 then they can pick 5.
I'll have a look through the thread and any ones that don't abide by it i'll see if I can get them deleted, though the thread starter can just ignore them really.

Fahrenheit was an awesome game but getting your top five is harder then one would think. I had to leave out Age of Empires II in preference to C&C: Tiberian Dawn. While I think AoEII is possibly the best RTS ever, C&C: TD holds many, many memories, and some of the best ingame soundtracks ever.

Hellmarch (the first one, from RA1) > *

People rave on about the music in Final Fantasy games. Pah! C&C is where it's at.

Act on Instinct is one of my all time favourite tracks from C&C :) After Red Alert I felt that the music side of things had gone downhill though.

cos it was over-rated?

agreed, i saw all the hype then went and bought it, then was massivly dissapointed. i just thought it was boring and i didnt like the game play.

i want more votes for Wolfenstein enemy territory. i lost days / weeks and months to that game. and it was FREE!!!!

Just found that the thread hasn't been visited for five days. If i remember rightly, last year i had to keep bumping it, pimping it in other forums, linking to it with my sig etc, etc. Unfortunately, i haven't got the time and, if i'm totally honest, interest, to do that this year.

BUT... I also remember, last year i had e-mails from several people offering to help out (really rude of me not to remember who, sorry :()

So, if anyone wants to help out, or even better, take over i'd be very greatful..... cheers :)
