Well my current BenQ is about to get refunded I hope, so i'm back to an old 21" dell which is dreadful for gaming. Specially moving from 120hz to a 60hz and very high input lag

Decisions decisions indeed. I have the exact same Quandry.
I recently bought the new Dell U2412m thinking i could compromise for gaming. For Quakelive and other 'critical' twitch fps games it just doesn't seem spot on. I'm torn between these same two at the moment the LG and the Asus.
Currently leaning towards the LG as it's cheaper and maybe i'll have the privelege to keep the Dell for slower games, movies etc.
You mention being patient for newer models but obviously these will be higher priced and also less tried and tested; does anyone have any links to newer models that are in the pipleline?

Not really interested in 3D'ness of these screens, just the suitability for gaming. 120hz, Input Lag, Response etc.
Maybe there's an even cheaper option since that's the case, although i think i'm getting sold on the Lg

After spending loads of time reading the reviews, all of them appear to have a compromise of some sort.
The best two for me, based on reviews was the Alienware and the new Acer 120hz (not the older one).
Take care with the selection of monitor in terms of connectors especially, for multi-monitor setups, it has given me a real head-ache.
AMD like Displayport more, Nvidia likes DVI more, bah too many standards and choices!
Oh and do not forget if you need the in-box stand to allow for rotation into portrait, not all of them support this either....

I'd highly recommend saving up and spending a bit more money and getting the Samsung S27A750D (or 23" version if you prefer), amazing monitor! I'm converted from CRT's and I'm very picky about these things. No input lag, amazing picture quality and colour accuracy - in the words of Charlie Sheen: "Winning!"

Too expensive.
Very happy with my lg2363d's, i read a few reviews first and used some colour settings from them which made a big difference, the settings as stock are not right, really can not complain for the price they are brilliant but as said need some tweaking from stock.

Interesting its using the LG panel(s), the previous Acers using CMO tbh weren't that great.
