Well, this poll is doing the rounds on various syndicated news sites today. The poll seems to come from Sportingfix.com.

1 Roy Keane; 2 Ron 'Chopper' Harris; 3 Vinnie Jones; 4 Dave Mackay; 5 Dennis Wise; 6 Stuart Pearce; 7 David Batty; 8 John Terry; 9 Graeme Souness; 10 Patrick Vieira; 11 Lee Bowyer; 12 Julian Dicks; 13 Billy Bremner; 14 Kevin Muscat; 15 Eric Cantona; 16 Norman Hunter; 17 Neil Ruddock; 18 Tommy Smith; 19 Nobby Stiles; 20 Alan Shearer.

Dennis Wise ahead of Stuart Pearce and Souness?

Kevin Muscat even being in the top 20?

I agree with some of those in the list (Keane, Pearce, Souness, Viera, Smith) but the others don't seem 'Hardmen' to me, they just have a rep based on one or two horrific tackles or are popular players!

Yeah, Wise would be there running up to front people only when he knew he would have the backup of big Vinny Jones or others.

For the overseas players, Id put Goikoetxea (The butcher of Bilbao) in that list and Edmundo (The Beast)

I didn't say he wasn't hard, just said he has no place on a hard man of football list. Especially if we are looking at the top twenty hardest.
