Top Gsync / FreeSync choices?

Please let us know your thoughts on it as I am trying to decide on this or the 24 inch version. I didn't want to go back to a tn after ips but may have no choice.

I like it. It's very sleek, minimal and professional looking. Has a sort of mat finish to the screen. Tear free in game using Gsync. Easy to set up. Thin bezels.

Maybe the color quality isn't up to an IPS standard, but I've gone from a TN to a TN so to me it looks fine.

It has one dead pixel but so did my old monitor.

All in all, for the money it's a very good monitor. 8/10.

Note I've only used it for one day.

For gaming would it be worth it to upgrade from a 24" 1080p 144hz, to the same spec G-sync model?

My thinking is if I stay on 1080p I should be able to max out games without much fuss instead of having to spend loads on a graphics card that can handle the extra pixels.

I was at 1200p and at 1440p I am gaming at 59% more pixels.

I would say the difference between 1200p and 1440p is everything is a lot crisper and textures a lot more fine and detailed.

As for is it worth it.... up to you. Maybe wait for a HDR monitor before jumping. Your already at 144Hz.

Me I jumped from a 9 year old 24" 60hz 1200p monitor. So I gained, in resolution, refresh rate, gysnc and in size. So all in all a big upgrade.

Dead pixel? Can you send it back for that? Or am too old school. I would unhappy if I got a dead pixel but my last monitor is 3 years old!

The current best is still the EIZO Foris FS2735 IPS freesync. It has gone back up to £1,100inc. now you might be able to find it for £850. The build quality and QA is a step on from anyone else.

I have the Dell TN G-Sync screen also, it is a nice screen but next to the Eizo the two are simply not comparable. If you have the extra money it is a no brainer to go for the Eizo.

I would not touch an Acer screen with a 10 foot barge pole.

I have seen the Eizo for £749. Still eye watering expensive for a home system, but they are one of the best monitors.

i agree that the dell is a solid 8 out of 10. nothing bad to say about the whole package. that is why they have such a big thread here and lots of fans. mine is running great.
