Filming the last show today and shown on saturday

:D or :(

No wet eyes in this house even though I and wifee grew up with TOTP's being the highlight of the week...

The advent of MTV and music channels is made it not worth it anymore. I think the best time it had was during 70s and 80s.

Yeh i grew up with it as well. As with all BBC mince it cant keep up with modern TV. Shame though but it's time for it to go, shame the BBC wont join em ;)

I think it's sad how an institution like TOTP, displaying music in the mainstream, has turned into the shambles it is now. It was just a matter of time before it was axed really.

It didn't show what is considered the 'best' music all of the time but music means different things to different people and I think encouraging everyone to listen to music is good.

Grew up with this in the 60s and 70s - highlight of the week, you never missed it.

Definitely been past its best for a long time now, but it doesn't stop me reminiscing about Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky Mick and Titch; Herman's Hermits; Small Faces; watching Pans People and seeing if they could remember their routine; etc etc etc, happy days :D

it used to be good but now the pop music on it is so poor it really isnt worth watching. good riddance - unless they put another "moving to the country" programme on.

I was and have alwawys been far to cool for top of the pops. :p
Yes i did write that in public as it's true. Knowone i have even known who has an ounce of street cred has ever been into TOTP.
Rinky dink party tunes with mr gay dj presenters, total crap from start to finish.
It's only saving was a bit of eye candy.
good riddance lets hope they put in a decent show in it's time slot like Tribes.

I used to watch TOTP around about the time ABBA and The brotherhood Of Man won the Eurovision song contest, I was around about 13. I was cool back then :D

I used to sit there in front of the TV when TOTP was on with a tape deck recording songs that I liked....

TOTP became Top of the flops a long time ago........

I agree with you there.

I also believe that the producers did try their best to cater for all of the different genres of music. Everything from Keane to Fatman Scoop to Girls Aloud. For those people without digitial music, it is without a doubt, a loss.
