Top overclock to expect of a Phenom 955 BE?

Hi,

Currently sitting stable at 3.8ghz, having recently purchased a 7950 I'm concerned that it could be bottlenecking me slightly.

Should i expect much more from this CPU, on air? I'm too poor for a mobo/cpu upgrade

Certainly the CPU would be the first to bottleneck, you could probably do a simple check and see if the CPU usage sits at 100% when your playing.

I managed 3.9 on air from a c2 chip. (4.1 water cooling)

Download core temp found it to be great for temp/resource watching.

If you only have one screen you could use a gpu stress benchmark or similar and use it in a window so you can keep an eye on core temps too.

open task manager (ctrl,alt and delete)

click performance tab

youll see 4 boxes showing each core when your gaming if any of the cores hit 100 percent constantly its bottlenecking ( or atleast thats my understanding)
