Just wondering how effective these are and whether or not its worth having one. I assume they are used to suck the warm air that sits at the top of the case?
Cheers

They are a good thing, but not essential in my opinion. A good case that doesnt have one will either have a fan high up on the back pannel to take out the hot air that builds up or the power supply will be positioned so that it sucks it out too.

They are also a lot easier to drop stuff into!

The top of a case is a good place to mount a water cooling rad because of the space avaliable, so there's that option to consider.

In the end of the day I guess it comes down to how hot your system will be running to really decide if one is needed.

PK!

Very effective for my case, being a P180 because it's directly above the CPU slot since the PSU is located at the bottom of the case, so I normally have mine on always. Guess it would depend on the case that you have also...
