Recently I had been having problems with one of my Samsung SyncMaster 2333 SW monitors where it was turning off and on randomly. With the monitor being outside of warranty I didn't hold out much hope but either way I thought I would try my luck and ring Samsung.
I called through, explained the problem and provided proof of purchase, an account and support ticket were opened up on my behalf. At first I was asked if I would like a replacement monitor but I explained to them that I had more than one of the monitors and would ideally like it fixed.
A day or so later I get another call from Samsung who take some more details. The person on the phone explains that they have added two free repairs to my account and arrange for the monitor to be picked up by dpd from my work and delivered to a repair centre for repair. A few days later the monitor arrives back to a different address (this often catches them out) fixed and working.
Total time taken - 20 mins on the phone
Total cost £0.00, and another free repair.
