i apologise for turning the forum into a discussion place for my e46 hunt but i appreciate everyones opinions and knowledge here

two cars occuping my thoughts at the moment :)

this 323: http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=485376

and this: 320: http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=489574

both garages are pretty good by all accounts. i reckon i could get the 323 for 17.5 or the 320 for 20k.

Personally (from piccies anyway) im liking the darker navy colour and the cheaper price would offset my increase in ins and tax, ill probably keep for 12mths max and put on 8-10,000 miles

which would be the better buy???

or should i get something like a seat leon cupra/honda civic typer r, im only 25, too young for a beemer?

not in ireland :)those are sports seats, a lot here have non sport leather, or worse non sport cloth !

no decent ones in NI as far as i can see, lot of hassle to import from uk and not much savings, unless someone can find me a really good 320/323ci with less than 50,000 miles for under £10k :)

under 50k for resaleability, ill only keep it 12mths

i can go over to uk, drive it back and then pay a big whack of registration tax, also if i go over to see a car and its not what it seems its an expesive trip, and a rac report is expensive aswell if car turns out to be a duffer

not more european, less european,

vrt is anti free market, govt will eventually scrap it but are resisting seeing as they make 1 billion a year or so from it :(

A new bmw m3 is uk is 38,500 pounds, i think its about 95,000 euro :(

@ scuzi, looked on autotrader cant see anything at all up north? anywhere else i could use to search? tax will range from 5,000 - 7,000 euro :(

sorry scuzi yearly motor tax ranges from 711 on the 320 to 890 on the 323

the tax im referring to is to import tax which would be 5-7k on top of the purchase price

just out of curiousity whats the yearly tax on the 328 up north?
