TopGear returns to out screens this evening with yet another new line-up of presenters. This time is Chris Harris, Feddie Flintoff, and Paddy McGuiness are our hosts.

While not a huge fan, at least it's a motoring show and they appear to be thin on the ground at the moment. That said the TopGear format has drifted away from motoring into school-boy frivolity and pointlessly pointing a supercar at one end of a runway and just gunning it in a straight line and finishing in a cloud of tyre smoke, generated by an even more pointless doughnut.

Other than Chris, I'm not even sure the other pair qualify as proper "Petrol-heads" I wonder how long it will be before all the cars being tested will be EV?

I get the feeling this new series will be poorly received and the BBC will sell the Top Gear brand to Chump & Sons.

Same presenters as before for this series. New team in later in the year.
Andi.

I didn't realise that was the case. I thought it was all done and dusted that Matt LeBlanc, that he was already on his way? I think the whole 3 lads gaming about for 2/3 of every episode format has had it's day now.

Maybe work on the new series had already begun when LeBlanc decided he was going to leave the show. Either that, or he had already agreed to do one last series before leaving.

Shame he decided to leave, because I'd have preferred it if they had carried on with LeBlanc, Harris and Reid.

As for the new team (which I believe have just started filming); I like Flintoff, but I'm not keen on McGuinness at all.

With "Man With a Plan" securing full 3rd season order LeBlanc has a solid paycheck, so it was inevitable that he would leave. BBC should have tried harder to keep him, but also try and draw cast from all three continents for wider audience. Let's say something like Le Blanc, Eric Bana (representing Australia, also racing driver) and Jodie Kidd.

Had hoped topgear would recover after the Clarkson&Co cancer was excised, but, indeed seems it is incurable; if only the clock could be rolled back 15 years;
but I think this has just as much merit to be in the motors section
