Topping E30/L30 stack

Any thoughts on the above combo for gaming use with DT990 PROs (250ohms)?

I did get a Creative G6 to go with them but wondering if the Topping stack would be any better.

Or are we talking more money for little to no gain?

I've only seen good things about the E30/L30 stack.

I had them. Great little combo. The only downside for me was that the L30 seemed to get very warm after a while, and that it felt a flimsy.

When I saw the A50 I much preferred the look of it. Even though the specs are pretty much identical other then it has a balanced headphone jack as well as single ended. It is a bit more £ though.

I returned the L30 and got the A50 a couple of weeks ago. Build quality is very much improved, and it does seem to have more power than the L40. I kept the E30 as it’s a solid amp even though it doesn’t match the A50 looks wise.

For the cash though, the L30/E30 combo is hard to beat.

Apparently too many 'issues' have been reported with the L30 over time. Apparently the designer had a nice idea, but he went with doubling low impedance output powers, forgetting DACs have 2V output voltages. Too much current and not enough gain.

Heresy and Atom are more reliable choices long term.
