Anyone got TopUpTv and do you think it's worth £10 a month?
Anyone know what the difference between discovery OD and discovery channel is?
also anyone got one of the + boxes are they anygood?

I dont have the topuptv service but I do have the Top Up TV branded Thomson box (like sky +).

With top up tv you have a couple of top up tv channels that show programs from other channels (e.g. discovery programs, mtv programs etc) that you can watch live, or in the case of a top up tv box it records them and then works a bit like an on demand service.

Apparently the service is ok, but there are reports of them messing up the scheduling so they may show eps 1-4 of a series then miss 2 out so it lacks continuity.

With regards to the top up tv digital recorder box I am not sure what to say on this. I bought it in january because it was cheap and I needed a new freeview box since mine keep losing picture and sound and crashing fairly regularly. Despite living by the strongest freeview transmitter in the UK I got poor reception which caused constant crashes of the box.

I changed my indoor aerial (which runs 2 other boxes fine) to a roof mounted one and experimented with several different combinations of booster boxes and amps to no avail. In the end I gave up and plugged the old box back in and was going to send the new box back but never got around to it. It was like I had bought a top up tv recorder box beta 1.

Today they put a new firmware out so I dug the box out and plugged it back in and so far it appears to be working perfectly (touch wood) so I am hoping the firmware has fixed the problem.

One thing I will say is that the box is noisy, it has a fan in it which is fine for normal lounge type viewing but I find it too loud to sleep with (it has an annoying pitch) so its probably not good for a bedroom. The box runs warm and apparently its not a good idea to remove the fan, so if the box continues to work ok I will go on the hunt for a quiet one to put in there.

I just got setanta via a pack they do with the cablecard caddie for IDTV, cos me £20 with delivery, proper bargin. The actual setanta card is plastered with TopupTV logo on as well so might wanna consider a cablecard for your telly?

I cant help you with the topuptc channels, but setanta sports 1 works great on freeview

I was a TopUpTV customer for a while, but left the service when they switched over to the AnyTime service. Which they only did because they sold half their channel allocation to Channel 5.
The programs they selected for download seemed to be erratic and I really didn't like most of the stuff they advertised in their schedule.

Also, I got the TopUpTV branded PVR for my father-in-law when his existing Freeview box gave up the ghost. I can't tell you how bad it was, always hanging up, randomly not recording programs. We changed it out for another and this was exactly the same, so got a refund and purchased another model.

I personally would avoid it like the plague. Your better off with BT Vision, if you have, or don't mind having, BT Broadband.
