Torn between iPhone 5 and Lumia 920

I've been using my Nexus S for what feels like a lifetime now and I've decided I need a new phone but I really can't decide between the iPhone 5 and the Lumia 920!

I have an iPad and I really like the idea of having everything synced across both my devices and I do rather like iOS.

I prefer the look of the windows 8 interface (from a few plays in the p4u store) and the idea of wireless charging sounds quite cool.

Is there really anything stand out about the devices that could sway my choice one way or the other? I'm just going round and round in circles between the two.

If you like iOS and you are familiar with it, nothing wrong with going for the iPhone. However, on the integration front, you can use Google's services (as an example) to sync pretty much everything apart from your bookmarks and open tabs in IE/Safari in WP8. If you really like WP8, you might as well go for the 920 (and save a bundle in the process).

Depends what you want, if you're willing to wait out on the app's front as Windows 8 is pretty much fresh out the factory then you'll be happy with a 920.

On the plus, you'll get Offline maps/satnav, Nokia Music, City Lens and other exclusive Nokia stuff.

a lot of people who come from Android don't like switching to iOS as they lose their customization, which isn't that good on WP8 but you still get plenty of options to create a sort of "mood" or theme if you like.

I'd say 920, I got the 800 and while I dislike the apps selection, everything else is top notch.

Given that you already have an iPad, the iPhone 5 would compliment it well for features like Photostream, iBooks and of course universal apps between the two.

Tbh having held them both side by side the iPhone just feels like a better product, I have heard customers say that the Nokia feels like a child's plastic play phone.

If you already have an iPad then the iPhone is the way to go.

IOS is a simple platform. If you like simple things.... Iphone 5 is the answer here. Nokia 920 is different in every department and it's nice new way to do things.

Bingo, that's what i did. Originally i had an SGS2, then i picked up an iPad.

Doing that made me go SGS2 to iPhone. I really like the interaction between both and having everything on both deivces make for a seamless experience.

It depends on what you consider most important, the Lumia has more features but Windows Phone still needs more work. You should probably focus on the important differences, do you like taking a lot of pictures? Do you like a bigger screen? Do you like having a huge number of apps?

Wireless charging isn't really cool, it's just convenient. It's like having a remote control in a cradle, you just place it or grab it and don't have to worry about it, that's not wildly different from using any other dock but is one less thing to worry about.

Either is good. I don't think the Lumia 920 is that much cheaper than a iPhone over the length of a contract atm though, is it?

Should be about £50-100 cheaper and that's comparing the 32GB Lumia to the 16GB iPhone. If money is a factor it's worth considering an iPhone tends to hold its value well.
