Hi Guys,

First off let me just apologise incase I am annoying people with my indecisivenes and repetitve questions however with looking to spend so much money I want to make sure I get it right.

Okay so I'm torn between the Corsair 800D, the Corsair 650D and the Silverstone Fortress 2 FT02B-W...

Both are stunning looking cases in my opinion but

The 800D is a notorious hot box and I would need around another £100 in order to replace the fans to take care of that problem

The 650D seems like a good compromise but It doesn't seem to exude the same level of quality that the other two have

The Silverstone Fortress 2 is a great air cooled case but I've read a'lot of people have space issues when mounting drives or large graphics cards

So I need to ask, yet again, Which one would you choose and why?

For air cooling i'd choose the FT-02, is stylish, quiet and has probably the beset airflow of any case. Doubt size would be an issue unless your wanting to put an XL-ATX motherboard and quad sli graphics cards in. Apparently it will fit a 5970 which is about as big as your gonna get. It can be a bit picky about what types of GPU coolers it can use, but should work fine with all reference and most aftermarket coolers. Its crap for watercooling as theres not enough room.

For water cooling the 800D, it's gigantic so has plenty of space for rads etc. Its also stylish IMO, and you won't get anything better for watercooling except the stupidly expensive niche cases e.g. mountainmods. It however has rubbish airflow, even with lots of decent fans it'd still be some way behind the FT-02. IMO this is only worth considering if you definitely want to watercool.

The 650D is and good compromise, better than the FT02 for watercooling but not as good for air cooling, better than the 800D for air cooling but not as good for watercooling. Plus its cheaper than both which is a plus :)

So basically it depends on what kit you want to install, if your as indecisive as your post implies then maybe the 650D is best, if you got the FT02 and then decided you wanted to watercool a few months down the line youd be in a right old pickle :p

This pretty much

I'd go with the 800D as imo,it is the best looking out of those, also depends on how you would cool it, as ng said. Also would you have any fans in your current build that you could use?

I'm stuck using a laptop at the moment.... sold my main computer a little while back as was in desperate need of cash,

To be honest I'm most likely to stick with air cooling...

If your sticking to air, I'd go for the raven as it really looks amazing and is arguably the best air cooling case.

If there's any chance of you going under water, then the 800D

Have you considered the Elysium and HAF X? The HAF has quite a few large fans meaning its not too shabby for air and it has plenty of space for gfx cards and some for liquid cooking if you do go for it

Stay away from the 800d if your air cooling trust me I have spent to much on different fans and it still doesnt help. Watercooling the 800d would be a pleasure though there is so much space.

If you want aircooling but might go watercooling down the line then take a look at the CM ATCS840 its a awsome case for both.

I would go 800D, true its a known hotbox and i am no "serial modder" but with the addition of an extra fan next to the fan above the psu and a few drill holes it more than makes up for the inconvenience.:)
