Torpig Trojan

Just ran Spybot and found the following:

Spybot cannot remove it, also the files in question are already in use, can't seem to locate them in processes. and I can't find anywhere that tells me how to effectively remove this trojan, can someone please help me!!

Can this place be trusted - http://www.scanspyware.net/download.htm ? It can apparently remove the trojan! - IGNORE

Tried different tools/programs and instructions and can't seem to get rid of this. Going to have to format!

Run the pc is safe mode and locate the file and delete it. Had a similar virus and it kept coming back when i deleted it so i started it up in safe mode, located it and deleted it..no problem.

Disable System Restore before trying to delete it or it will come back.

Hey bro,

Boot into safe mode, run msconfig and check the startup parameters; Whist you there, run Search and Destroy with latest definitions. Then reboot... if all that fails, download stinger and run that. If that fails try a system restore.

Too late guys, but thanks. I ended up formatting in frustration. Nevermind, great advise which I will keep in mind for future occurances.

I'm going to get him enrolled ASAP at the local college!
