Looks like Talk Talk has started to block a lot of torrent sites. I mainly use torrentday and iptorrent both of which are blocked. Personally have a VPN so I'm safe but thought I would let you guys know.

it's all a smoke and mirrors game anyway. They know blocking the sites doesn't actually do much but to your average joe it appears they are being proactive. And i see piratebay has been resurrected AGAIN

Looks like torrentday just move to .eu and its all back :D, and yeah I was on my VPN very shortly. I also don't think its just smoke and mirrors those sony leaks showed these guys are getting really serious.

Technically we're still on TalkTalk's network despite moving to another ISP. All torrent sites are blocked and have been for some time if that's what you mean. Some can still be accessed.

I'm not surprised that IPTorrents got blocked, I'm on a few myself and IPT looks like the most 'Public' site I'm on. You can upload anything there, it's got a huge userdb maybe many dupes, but I'm not complaining I love the variety over there lol!

Is TorrentDay the same? If so, do you have any invites you can spare? lol, thanks.

The blocking thing is amusing as they often publicise what sites they're going after, which usually spikes to the traffic to the sites mentioned.

Whats the best free VPN to use guys?

I would recommend looking at getting a cheap VPS, or even using Amazon's which is free, and just using that as a VPN. It does mean a bit more manual work but I have a $5 Digital Ocean box that I use for my private sites from time to time and I just use that as a VPN when I need.

You could also try those proxy sites but I wouldn't trust them with anything that needs a login.

Torrentday are smart enough to just move TLD to .eu and just work as usually, currently don't have any invites mate sorry.

Just use the https site of iptorrents.... SSL secure

Bt certainly dont block this but they block the normal site.

Install Opera Browser, once installed click on the Opera Text top left screen, select "Opera Turbo" so that its ticked, close browser and re-launch it. You can now access the sites that were blocked.

I use a little addon through google chrome called Zenmate which is available through extensions and i can get onto any torrent site with that also if you cant access IPTorrents try there HTTPS address instead https://iptorrents.com that should work as it is using a secure server

Although ISPs are blocking direct access to these torrent sites, which users are then able to circumnavigate, what happens to the torrent traffic - is that still allowed? I know in the old days it used to be throttled...

Depends on the ISP.

BT, TalkTalk, Sky = no shaping
EE, Virgin Media = shaping
