Torrents: when using no other internet possible

When downloading torrentsI am not able to use the internet or indeed download mail.Also unable to access my billion routers interface.
What do I have to change ?
I am able to use another puter plugged into the router as my connection is far from being maxed out

It might be worth giving something like this a go to ensure you're uploads aren't saturating your connection.

i use a program called cFosSpeed which allows me to browse smoothly whilst downloading AND uploading at full rate. I highly recommend it.

I had the same issue I dropped my number of global connections and that fixed it, also what client are you using?

I'm using utorrent 1.6.1?

I'd recommend this too. If you find nothing works blame the Billion router. I used to use a Billion branded ADSL modem/router combo and it'd crap out not long after anyone started a torrent - even with limiting the number of connections and general client tweaking.
