Toshiba 32WL48P as PC monitor?

The Toshiba 32WL48P only supports up to 1024x768 using the PC input, so that's out for normal PC use. What I'm trying to discover is whether the resolution can be improved if I used a DVI to HDMI cable instead of the analogue VGA connection? MY HTPC is using a Radeon X800 Pro. I want to be able to use it as a normal PC monitor without the huge black bars.

Any help appreciated.

The correct resolution for your tv is 1366 x 768 and i see no reason why you cannot use that over VGA with an x800. Make sure you have the monitor driver set to plug 'n' play. One possibility is using powerstrip to setup the resolution manually. In any case you should be using dvi/hdmi to get the best image quality.

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask where you got that info about the correct resolution? The owners manual shows only 1024x768, yet every site online lists it as 1366 x 768. Toshiba's home page refuses to acknowledge the existence of a 32WL48P, so I can't find an updated manual anywhere. Very frustrating.
