I have a Toshiba 6100 Satellite Pro and I'm keen to disable the track point that sits in between the keys as its faulty and wont stop moving the mouse cursor!

Does anyone know how to remedy this?

BIOS? Presumably it also has a driver that loads up on windows start. Try running msconfig from Start->Run and deselecting the driver from the startup, then go into Device Manager and disabling the hardware.

Hey mate

Nothing in BIOS which is most odd and there is no driver either, ran msconfig last night. I'll see what driver in device manager its using and nail it. I thought there would be software for this to turn it off.

i had the same on a dell lattitude - the only way i could do it was to take out the keyboard and cut the ribbon cable to the nipple.

but make sure you get the right one - you will be able to tell when you remove the keyboard

All fixed!!

I took the keyboard off and checked out the cable - unfortunately there was no cable to the track point, so I took the surrounding keys off and used a pair of pliers to lift the nipple completely off, so now its working perfect :)
