Not sure if this should be in the Windows forum but here goes:
Got a Toshiba a300d laptop that I have formatted and tried to install Vista Home Premium 64bit on but it keeps saying "Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation.", just before finalising.
Having done a little searching, someone suggested that I should have installed the driver for the hdd but I cant find that one amongst the Toshiba drivers on their site.
Just tried the 32bit version and that unpacked and then went to black screen on it's reboot.
I suspect that the hdd has problems but running chkdsk via command prompt shows no errors.
Any ideas welcome.
