Hi there, friend asked me to have a look at her laptop before taking it to the shop and paying out loads of money, and I've plugged it in and turned it on, it doesn't even seem to get as far as launching the bios code and going through the checks at the start, after about 5 seconds I just get a black screen with a cursor icon in the top left corner of the screen.
It doesn't let me type, I tried press all the F1 keys all the way upto F12 as well as everyone other key on the keyboard which does nothing. Also tried putting in the windows 7 CD too but that did nothing also, but then again I kind of expecting as much because it's not getting far enough to search for CD's because it doesn't appear to be launching the bios in my opinion.
Do you have any ideas what this could be or how to fix this problem?
It looks like a decent laptop, has windows 7 and intel celeron.
