Next to the ketchup...
Tried booting up my Toshiba Satellite A200 this morning. Getting nothing showing on the screen, only thing that happens is I can hear possibly the fan on the cpu or motherboard kick in for about 5 seconds then all goes dead, the light that indicates the laptop is on but thats it.

Have tried booting it without the battery in and having simply plugged into the mains, exactly the same. Anyone got any ideas?

Still under warranty only bout a month old lol. WIll give toshiba a ring see what they have to say.

Cheers for the help

Try taking out the mains lead and the battery together. Hold down the power button for 20 seconds. This is like a CMOS reset.

Then try botting it up again using mains power.

Also may be worth try only one memory module at a time to see if ones duff.
