Does anyone know how to recover operating system on a toshiba satellite L450D-11V.

F8 on start up then repair your computer, log on, then select toshiba HDD recovery from the menu.

Thanks for that but the F8 would not work. Found out the hard drive had gone faulty and now needs a new hard drive but how will get the windows 7 back.

You would have had an option to burn the recovery discs when you first setup the laptop, no one ever does though and you'll have to purchase a new set from Toshiba.

Its my friends laptop and my friend never burned the recovery dvd's. It had windows 7 home premium oem and i have a retail 7 home premium, can i install my copy on and install her key code from under her laptop so would that work and is it illegal.
