Hey all,

I figured this would be the correct place to post as I'm not seeking technical advice, more consumer advice.

Basically the missus bought herself the said laptop 11 months ago. And it has worked perfectly, until recently.

Two problems has risen in the last month or so which is causing her a lot of jip (she has essays and whatnot due all the time so a consistent piece of tech keeps her happy)

The laptop will randomly turned off when the laptop is 'dropped' (the term used EXTREMELY lightly) basically if there was an M&M on my lap under the L650 and I tilted it up to get the wee bugger then put it back, that is enough to make it shutdown.

Also the left click stops working, I believe the pins lose contact or something to that effect, however I seemed to have fixed that, however it comes and goes.

She has one month left on her warranty with PC World (I know) but here's my issue. The problems are... Difficult to recreate, like if you try to make it turn off it won't. Then hours later you move a little and it will die. And as I fixed the left click I feel I can't return it on that.

I don't mind if the Laptop has to be RMA'd to Toshiba (I'd prefer it to PCW's in house 'repair team') however I'd rather do it through PCW as they pay all the postage costs, I'm just worried that will problems that are impossible to recreate, but annoying as hell, PCW or perhaps even Toshiba, will just tell me to get stuffed :/

Opinions?

might as well go direct through toshiba, all pc world will do is arrange for a repair via toshiba

Just tell them the fault is intermittent and they will log it as such. Intermittent problems are pretty common and it's nothing unusual for it to not show up immediately. If you can get it to show the fault in store that will be better because the store will be able to back you up if the service centre cannot find the fault. Either way it will be able to be booked in and sorted.

Excellent :)

Anyone know the rough turnaround on these things?

Depends on the problem, general lead time is currently around 10 days but that is assuming parts etc are available and the fault is diagnosed relatively easily.
