So I have just gone and installed a 840 EVO into the laptop and im trying to format it to windows, I have created a bootable USB with 8.1 on it, I put the USB into the laptop and in the bios of the laptop I disabled secure boot and put the boot mode into CSM Boot because otherwise I would constantly get "Insert boot media and push..ect" Whilst I no longer get that message im now unable to boot into the USB, The laptop will try to boot into the SSD which has a copy of windows on from my other pc but will never succeed. I changed the boot order to USB>HDD/SSD>ODD>LAN but even then the laptop doesn't even try to boot to the USB, I can confirm that the USB works because I have tried it on my main pc and managed to get into the boot into installation, Has anyone got any idea as to why its ignoring the USB?

Hi,

How did you make the USB bootable? Recommend using Universal USB Installer.

Also tried a different port?

Do you have a DVD drive in this laptop, have you tried an ISO copy of Windows 8.1 on this?

I made the USB bootable using universal, the USB isn't the problem, I have had another computer load up with it, This laptop has no DVD drive

edit: Managed to get it working last night, Took the original hard drive from the laptop and cloned it to the ssd from my main pc
