Hello Guys!

Some of you may not be able to afford the latest and greatest technology however here at OcUK we are looking to let you know what may be the best over all purchase for you.

The following review is of the 512GB variant which is ultimately the fastest along with the 256GB.

The 128GB and 64GB are marginally slower however this is the case with every brand of SSD so the trend that overall the Toshiba is the fastest SSD available is still a distinct possibility and a probability too!

TechPowerUp review HERE!

The above image has been taken from the review and shows all tests combined to show the average performance of each drive. As you can see, the Toshiba is certainly showing up a fair few other drives out there including the Vector and the 840 Pro!

So... What am I trying to get at?

This!

Unlike magnetic hard disk drives, the more common storage solution used today, 60GB Toshiba SSDs have no moving parts and do not rely on magnetic fields to store data. Due to this fact, SSDs have plenty of advantages: They are exceptionally rugged, durable, reliable and offer a faster experience.

This is a 1 week only deal ending next wednesday.

Its just the 60GB drive but the performance it offers for only £59.99inc is truly EPIC!

If money is tight but you have the upgrade itch, then this is the drive to buy as you can be sure it will certainly not disappoint! :)

Looo... better would be to ammend picture and place 60GB model a bit below as its write speeds are a bit (30 MB/s) lower. And nobody knows if IOPSes are affected. Anyways, it's good SSD.

waste of money, would be full within a week, should do a minimum size of 256 in ssd's

Quite possibly one of the most retarded comments I have read on here today. Tell me then, why my 64GB SSD, which I use for Windows 8 and all my drivers has less than 40GB used? It will NEVER be full as I use it for my OS, drivers and most used apps. Of course, if you want one for everything then you need bigger but to state they are a waste of money is very stupid.

+1

im quite happy with my 60gb vertex that ive had for about 2 years

As for you calling me out here, I suggest you actually read the OP here.

ALL 64gb and 128GB are slower than the 256gb and 512gb parts at the moment. As such the benchmarks reflect this but in percentage terms also reflect this in a manor that is mirrored by the percentages in the OP.

I deal with SSDs here at OcUK, see each and every SSD as it comes through the door, test pretty much every SSD that comes through the door and as a result have a very good idea of how fast each and every drive we sell is.

If you cant trust the OcUK team then who can you trust as I certainly wouldnt trust the manufacturers or base line written specs. Samsung and Crucial are perfect examples of how paper specs mean nothing as the 830 and M4 are slower on paper than a drive such as an Agility 3 however in real world benchmarks and useage are MUCH quicker :)

Great deal for those on a budget. With prices as they are today for 128GB drives it makes less sense than it used to get a 60GB (when the difference was more than £20), but if you only intend to use it for OS, commonly used apps and the odd game, it's still money saved - the £20 could go towards a better GPU for example.

Still using a 64GB Crucial M4 here for a full win7 ultimate install, apps and ~3 games at a time and it's fine.

60Gb is just big enough, in all fair ness and for that price it is quite decent for what you get...sometimes you don't have the £££ to throw at the bigger SSDs.
