Toshiba tv volume bar display

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone could offer me a bit of help for a friend regarding a Toshiba tv. Their tv Toshiba 39L4353D has lost the volume display indicator on screen? So basically the TVs volume works fine but there is no volume display showing on the tv to know what level the volume is at. Anyone know how to rectify this?

And they've definitely not got the remote set to adjust the volume on the amp / AV Receiver or anything like that?

Do the physical volume buttons on the TV work?
Is there a relevant setting in the TV's menu that you can find?
Do other OSD's work (such as current channel number)?

Try a factory reset if that does not work check what firmware the tv has it may need updating.
