Hi all Ive got my mates lassies tablet to try and fix out for her.

now we have no ideas how she's managed it but she has wiped the drive so Im needing recovery media for it. at present its just giving me the error no bootable device.

so weve discovered she had made a recovery disc onto an sd card to gain space on the internal drive. but then decided she wanted to use the sd card in her phone and it formatted it.. so we have no recovery for it.

any help would be grateful

"Should" be able to install windows via USB (requires USB OTG) with a copy of Windows 8.1 the key should be hardcoded in the UEFI. Using an external hub so as to have keyboard + external bootable drive makes it easier.

Some people have had luck in getting the recovery media from Toshiba support.

sadly no luck from Toshiba and was glad I had an old dell monitor lying around with a USB hub as the touchscreen wouldnt work when installing windows 8

Personally I would just download the Windows 8 ISO from Microsoft (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows8) and use YUMI to create a bootable USB.

cheers youre link worked. just used the MS tool to put it onto a usb drive and it worked.

going to try and update it to windows 10...

I swapped my mates lass a wee netbook for this so going to see how I get on with it.

hoping once its all set up the touch screen will work.

so up and running 8.1. Ive got no sound and no touchscreen working.
so currently downloading W10 and hoping that should fix out the drivers. if not ill need to try and find a proper recovery media for it.

never used a windows tablet before now. prefer it over an android tablet. not sure if the novelty will wear off after a while but handy for when were away or when the misses steals a shot of my pc

so when it was on 8.1 I could get a desktop and use the mouse and a bluetooth keyboard ive got and it was alright. but on W10 a few niggles and I couldnt get a desktop it wouldnt come out of tablet mode.. so back to 8.1 it goes
