I've just bought an Asrock 775dual-vsta motherboard and realized it does not have a toslink output( Doh  ), I need this for feeding my av amp.

Whats my options?

Thanks

My pc is hooked up to my plasma so I watch movies and listen to music using the cable, Im really looking for the cheapest without being crap.

Am I right in thinking that if my av amp is doing the processing then a cheap one will be fine?

Cheers

Yes, however you want to make sure the digital out is ASIO compliant. M-Audio Revolution is, as 44.1hz PCM is sent as 44.1khz PCM, and not 48khz. 48khz is sent as 48khz. Some soundcards will always upsample everything to 48khz.

Is that one not SP/DIF rather than toslink?

ah right sorry it lacks optical out. :( Does your av amp have electrical SPDIF?

I'd rather not have to go under my living room floor to lay another cable :D

I can see me just going for the cheapest toslink one I can find.

Cheers
