Okay guys as the title says, I want a nice TOSLINK switch with a IR remote.. Seen some but they look naff or expensive and have seen the cheap and nasty ones too that you change by hand by twisting a knob . I also found some that would have been perfect but ofcourse good old google shopping found them in USA not UK.... grrr...

Downside is the cables are front & back so it depends on were you are planning on putting it.

Its about the best I have found for the money, others seems to always be very expensive. although I don't have one so I can't say anything else about it.

Another option is a HDMI Switch box with optical but again good ones are hard to find at this price.

I had one of the cheap and nasty ones that you turn a knob, and I have to say it worked perfectly. Yes you had to get up off your ass, but I wasn't switching optical inputs that often. And for £4 it was a bargain.

It's only light after all, it's not exactly rocket science.

LMAO :D yes it's only light but I dont want to have to climb behind a 50" plasma to change settings mate;). Trying to keep the place neat and tidy, the other half is already kinda jumpy about all the electrical home theatre stuff as it is, I don't want to rock the boat :D.. She's been recently very nice and allowed me to buy some expensive rear speaker stands for the 5.1 setup ( Didn't tell her real price lol, she would have had a heart attack ) but she liked them (ofcourse she would they were damn expensive).

Thanks Richard yes that actually looks very nice, wonder what the remote looks like for it. :D ( Will have to tell the other half it was £10-15, or she will again have a minor stroke everytime I buy electrical stuff)

No problem, the remotes on these type of things don't usually look amazing but as long as it works. You never know it might be decent as the unit itself looks like its been designed by someone older than 5. hehe

Let me know what you end up doing.
