I have just assembled a mini itx build using a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI mini itx Rev 3 motherboard, an AMD A10 7850K processor, 2 X 4GB Crucial 1600 memory and a Corsair 120GB SSD.

It has been a disaster, first off my BeQuiet 650W modular supply from my old computer would not fit in the case, but I had a spare 450W no name PSU, so I temporarily used that till I can get a new one.

All assembled and plugged in, fans spin, HDD activity light is flashing but I get nothing on my monitor, so can proceed no farther.

Has anyone got any ideas.

I have been building my own computers for 15 years and this is the first one I have had this problem with.

It gets worse, I have just found out that Rev 3 of this board will not recognize the A10 7850K without flashing the BIOS with a FM2 CPU.
So more expense, I should have stuck with my old build which was running great, but the upgrade bug struck.

Can you try a discrete graphics card to see if get display so can flash?

If graphics card too big for case then try motherboard resting on cardboard outside case.

Might be worth posting on Gigabyte forum in case they have an automated flash method you can put on USB memory stick or something.

I did post on the Gigabyte forum, that was how I found the answer.

Any graphics card would be no use, as it does not recognize the APU so no post, so no BIOS to play with.

If you're not within easy range of Overclockers, take your board down to your local computer shop and ask them to flash the board for you - cheaper than buying an FM2 APU purely to flash the board.

Or ask Gigabyte again if there's a remote flash option because it's ridiculous that they're selling an A88X FM2+ motherboard that actually can't support a FM2+ APU directly.

I had already purchased a FM2 APU to flash the BIOS myself, but after an abject failure to do the flash, I took it to my local independent computer store and they flashed the BIOS for the small sum of £15, so now it is all up and running and I am very pleased with it, and one AMD APU going on the bay of thieves.
