Hi all,

Sorry for the newb questions, but this is my first WC build since probably my AMD Duron days after getting scared off due to a cracked block.

The diagram is the right way round before you ask, I am using a lian li v1000 chassis which has the motherboard inverted.

I have ordered all of the parts that I believe I need and I think I am ready to progress with the build.

After some investigation I read that it was advised that a drainage tap was added, so I have decided to add that into my design for easy maintenance and kit changes. As I have a place to hide it, it makes sense right?

Am I stupid here, but during the filling process (and bleeding the system) isn’t there a very high risk of coolant creeping back down the hoses and exiting via the fill-port of the reservoir? I see so many systems where the pump and res are near the bottom of the case… therefore, why does this not happen?

inline temp gauge has been installed.

I have been having some blowback surprisingly. but only 10ml or so at a time.

I am redoing my loop, i cannot see the res very well, and I bought opaque hoses. there's no real way i can be sure the system is running ok (fail)

Therefore, i will be re-doing the pipework with clear tubes.

Would i be better off reversing the loop so that the fluid flows down rather than up?

Alex,

Just wanted to follow up and thank you for your advice, clear tubing arrived and i reversed direction of the loop, going down first.

This bled so much easier on my small res I cannot express the difference. I am now in the leak-testing phase.
