Total War: Arena is an upcoming strategy game under development by The Creative Assembly. According to the developers, Total War: Arena is a new free-to-play game currently in development, and it will be the first title in the series that has a free-to-play model. Total War: Arena will focus entirely on online multiplayer, mixing elements of real-time strategy and multiplayer online battle arena gameplay. The game will feature 10 versus 10 battles, with each player controlling 3 units, each containing up to 500 men

If you like the other total war games you should enjoy the challenge of fighting other players instead of the AI

seems uber fun and mostly balanced the same balance you expect from total war.

all the same mechanics are here so encourages people to play tactically and work together.

looks like you can just sign up and instantly get a steam key right now

It seems pretty arcadey plus theres not stamina you run everywhere. All the stats damage eg friendly fire and how much damage your doing it reminds me of moba type games rather than total war. Plus no campaign map, which is the biggest feature of a total war game.
Its a lite version I guess, which aint a bad thing, kinda like battlefield/ cod series just jump in for a quick 30 min bash.

Sorry arknor that was in response to my key giveaway thread, just saw you made an official thread.

Is a moba style game. What campaign maps you wants? Thats the normal total war for online campagn maps..

There aint any campaign maps, just battles?
Ive played mp campaigns the last 3-4 total war games. First one to introduce it was empire total war.
I wasn't expecting a campaign map on a moba game anyway I was just highlighting it.

Just bumping this as the closed beta starts on the 1st of September. You can get access for £9 here (or you can spend more and get even more bonuses):

I've been watching YouTube videos of this and am pretty excited about the game. It looks like a really fun way to pass the time until Total War: Warhammer II comes out at the end of September.
