Total War type game for my laptop

I love all the total war games. The mixture of RTS, turn based and the historical setting is brilliant. I am now without a PC and would like to get my fix on my laptop, but my spec is a little lacking....

Sony Vaio TZMN21
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo U7500
RAM: 1 GB
Graphics Controller: Intel GMA 950

I've tried running Medieval (yes, the first one), but it keeps booting to desktop when the campaign starts. I think there's a conflict with the graphics card.

Is anyone aware of a way to get this running, or recommend any similar type games that will run?

Shogun will run on anything!

You could try Rome on low settings and small unit sizes. I saw a video of it running on an EEEPC and it looked playable.

Think that's the same one. There's an issue on netbooks because of the minimum resolution. On a laptop with a decent sized screen it should be OK.
