hey guys, ive bitten the bullet and given in to the fact that i need watercooling, my house is way to warm and in this current summer heat its even worse, room temp never drops below 33c which is causing havoc with my system.

My Spec
Opteron 146 @ 2.5ghz
ASRock Dual SATA II
Ultra X Connect 2 PSU
Radeon x800pro VIVO + ATi Cooler Rev3 (Flashed to XTPE)
4x 512mb TwinMOS PC3200
1x74gb Raptor
1x250gb + 1x160gb Matrox
Old Cheiftec Dragon Case

I currently have a Thermtake SL-120 + 120mm Delta fan cooling my CPU which was fine in my old house, but my new place is just to warm for this to be any good.

So what i want to know is just what kit do i need to keep my temps low and open up the options of pushing my CPU a bit more.

Im not too fussed about cooling the gfx for now, but would look at that at a later date.

Any help would be great thanks

If you plan on doing extreme OC, Swiftech Storm, Alphacool NexXxoS XP or an AquaExtreme MP-05 SP LE as a block. Otherwise stick to an apogee.

Best pump around is currently the Laing/Alphacool DDC-Ultra, when using the top barb as inlet.

On the cheaper but still good side you have the AquaXtreme 50Z and DangerDen D5/Swiftech MCP655, but the latter is not recommended with rads under triple because of its above-average heatdump. Theyre also not as quiet and larger than the DDC.

Best rads around are UK-made Thermochill PA series - get them direct from the manufacturer. If they cost too much for you, Swiftech's MCR-QP series is a solid runner-up with good value. HWLabs' Black Ice GT series has equal performance but is prettyer.

All of these give great performance with Yate Loon/Nexus 120mm fans in pull.

If you dont mind noise and will be pushing 130CFM+ though them per fan, an HWLabs Black Ice Extreme or a Thermochill HE are the thing for you.

Given the price differences between rads of different sizes, I would get the largest you can possibly fit. You can always use a swiftech radbox to hang the rad off the back of your case.

Certainly dont get anything smaller than a double so you wont have any heat concerns if you decide to cool your GPU in the future... triple is kind of a necessity of SLi/CF.
