A few weeks ago my rig was having issues booting. Sometimes the mobo wouldn't turn on, but had this slow pulsating white light taunting me.
After troubleshooting a few things (cmos reset, switching psu to 'eco mode' bizarrely) sometimes it would boot, sometimes it wouldn't, until one saturday it just refused completely.
I took everything apart and found out if I removed one stick of ram it would boot flawlessly everytime.
Here's the problem: it doesn't seem to matter which stick I remove, it just won't work with 4 slots being taken up in the mobo, only 3. Does this point to the mobo being at fault or is there something wrong with my ram settings?
RAM is 4 x 4GB corsair dominator ddr 2333mhz, running at stock/no xmp profiles in the bios. I've reset my cpu clock back to stock too.
Mobo is an EVGA Micro 2, cpu 5820k, gpu evga 980ti sc+, i've got 2 1tb ssds in there
anyone seen something like this before?
