Totally stuck on what to buy next

I've just finished Bioshock and am on the last level of Portal [great game] but have no idea what to buy next. I normally like FPS games but there aren't many of those at the moment. I loved the Witcher but got terribly bored by Oblivion and don't want to move into WoW. Is there anything good out which I'm missing?

At times like this when I'm not sure what to buy, I usually check out the offers on at the local games shop. There's usually a few there that get me saying "oh I missed that" and its not much of a dent on the wallet either.

I was thinking of Timeshift. Reviews on Amazon are very positive but people here don't seem so keen.

EDIT - I don't normally go for 'war' games but Battlefield 2142 looks promising. Does it have a single player mode and is it worth it?

i got R6:V2 this weekend and its pants, i like terrorist hunt in the first game it was brilliant in this you will turn a corner and enemy will suddenly spawn

CoD4 single player was great, one of the best for a long while, but oh so short. Dont know if i'd buy the game just for the SP.

UT3 was one of my worst buys last year, not really looked at it. Nice graphics, just couldn't get into it.

Played it, excellent game.

Battlefield 2 looks like CS too much. I find stuff like that really boring.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2, but only if you have a friend to play it in coop.
Assassin's Creed, Great story, little repetitive, but revolutionary none the less. Definitly worth playing.
