I know how a touch lamp work, capacitance & all that stuff.

But, is it possible for a touch lamp to switch it self on, several times I've doze off & woke up later to find lamp on, just thought I forgot I switched it on, or the lamp was faulty, so I swap it over with another one I have, & thought no more about it.
But, last night I had a fright:eek:, sat at the desk, starting to get dark, the light suddenly came on at it's lowest setting.

Turned it off, about 10 minutes it came on again at it's brightest setting, I have no cats,or other animals to activate the lamp , & the lamp is about 2' away sat on a wooden desk.

I hope it is a common fault Morbius, just funny both lamps are playing up.:(

What intrigue me was I was thinking how dark it had got, & the light came on, just at the precise moment.
And 10 minutes I made another comment about light & it came on even brighter, pure coincident?

Yes, it's just a coincidence. Now go and buy a replacement. :)

I had 2 touch lamps and they both did this, now have one with a switch on the cable which isn't as nice but at least it doesn't turn itself on.

I had something like this years ago. It was a real plant and to turn the light on you would touch the leaf, and to dim up/down you would hold the leaf. As above sometimes it would come on by its self. Used to freak me out

Just checked the website and they've closed :(
