Touch pad inop in windows.

Swmbo has an old Compaq Presario CQ61 (win 7 ult)

The touch pad just stopped working, when restarting it works up to the point you put the password in and press enter. Then nowt.

I know very little about laptops or 7 so any help gratefully received!

Says devices working fine.

Edit. The touch pad has a tiny little power switch! Had been switched by mistake.
