Pretty sure i saw a post in Motors in the last few months which suggested a product that worked with touch up paint for smoothing out paint blobs when repairing stone chips etc.

Similar to Dr ColorChip or Chipex, but it was just the blending solution for normal over the counter touch up paint.

Have search here but cant find it, any suggestions ?

Got a bit of a scuff and some stone chips (general wear and tear) on my front bumper and wondered wether it would be worthwhile filling them myself or getting it done professionally.

What are you using to do the job? Is it manufacturer supplied paint?

I tried the whole touch up stuff and gave up. Ended up spending £100 on the front bumper to be resprayed and turned out surprisingly good!

Pepsilol, could you PM me where you got your bumper done if it was local to Sheffield please? Looks like they've done a cracking job especially for the price.

Yeah it was bang in Sheffield called Farrelly T.

Warning, it doesn't look like a great place and be prepared to give your car a thorough wash afterwards. He doesn't have detailers or or anything on site so it's cheap but you will need to clean up after him.

He did this on the M5.

Front bumper due to scuff.
Both front wings

The job is again shockingly ok. I can't knock it other than some overspray. He got overspray on my car aswell but I just clayed it off.

However it was a complete mess with polish residue and needed throughly cleaning. After cleaning up it looks pretty good, it's certainly better than the dull finish the dealer had done on it.

His paintwork on my DB9 has survived a year and looks perfectly fine. He's always busy with pretty new cars constantly in and out of his place yet no one has ever heard of him.
