i have a 32" tv and from what i can read I can just buy component cables from apple store to watch tv via my 3rd generation touch?

I've read in several places that the output would be 520 which is acceptable.

I dont have a mac but have a us itunes account and im buying and renting movies from it. (I know I'm an anomoly and must people prefer to get it for "free" still it's the way I was brought up I suppose).

Anyway anyone shed some light on this can it be done or do you need to buy the universal dock?

I bought the cable for 35 quid. It works great and I can now watch my tv series bought on itunes via the ipod touch on my 32" tv.

The output seems to be 576p or 576i anyway perfectly acceptable for me.

:)

I bought the AV (Composite + stereo left and right) version of the cable for my iphone 4, While the quality may not be as good as component it's compatible with just about every TV going. Very handy for hotel rooms and came in to it's own while in Turkey.

Make sure you get the genuine Apple one as there is a chip in them and they're of far greater quality than the cheap ones you can find. The Apple lead comes with a charger so you can watch and charge at the same time.
