Touchpad trouble =(

Basically my dad is having trouble with his Toshiba laptop, When he moves around using the touchpad the cursor jumps all over the place and sometimes moves a complete opposite direction....Now i have no experience with laptops...but hopefullly someone on here can help?

Hey, I know this may sound a bit silly! However, the first thing to check is that there aren't any crumbs/residues caught around the edges of the touch-pad. Try running a finger nail around the edges and see if anything clears out.

Try uninstalling the drivers and downloading updated ones if available too. How old is it?

Nah its all clean.....I have uninstalled what ever was there and installed Synaptics and it seems a lot better...will just have to wait and see

I've seen this before, and like Alex said it was a driver problem in my case.
