Apologies about the following rant

hey there peeps!
uuuum so yeah i just got back in january from a year in oz, full of cheer to find that a big recession thingy had hit the uk.
gutted right, why didnt i listen when peeps said dont come back?!
lol, annnnnnnyway so me an the long term gf decided that as we cant afford to save for any more travels for the time being that we'd settle down, so off i trot today for the only interview ive been offered since returning to the uk.. at mcdonalds. w00t, well anyway its full time and i got the job. excellent.
so here's me fair chuffed with mesel' cos it means i can get a flat with me gf now and get the gaming rig i sold to fund oz in the first place built back up.
so get back in and check me emails to find a nice little email from a ski resort in new zealand saying that ive got the offer of a job on the slopes of the north island, ski lift attendant. lol, shovelling snow has gotta be better than flipping burgers right!?

only problem is is that whilst the job ive got requires an interview (basically to confirm my eligibility of work status) in new zealand (which i have) the interview takes place in the north island of new zealand, a 27 hour flight and about £500. do get a stopover in bangkok tho lol. loooove thailand :D
so should i save up and go for it, bearing in mind that i may not (i mean i havent signed any papers yet) get the job and have an ace long weekend in new zealand, with a total round trip flying comin in at over 50 hours lol.
or do i settle down and get a flat and stuff.

btw i know the choice sounds relatively easy, go to new zeland right and save the uk's weather for another year, but my gf hasnt been offered a job at the ski resort yet (she has applied (b4 me actually lol--gutted:P)) and im gonna have to work in mcdonalds either way to afford the ticket to the interview. lol
blah. sorry for anyone that reads this its just bin doing my head in all day.
and damnit i got me heart set on me new rig :(
lol /endrant

Flipping burgers in Carlisle, or working at a ski resort in NZ. Not really a tough choice is it? ;)

HA that made me laugh, touche!

fair point lads!
no chance of a credit card, unfortunately im semi runnin from a couple of bad finance decisions when i was 18. damn credit at pcworld an a credit card back then.
lol but back to the decision process, the missus would probs pool with me and i could get there faster. have sum family over in new zealand anyway so i guess i could work on their farm.
deffo can work over there, £45 for a two year working visa after which i can apply for residency. awesomeness. also if i run outta time there i have me second year visa for oz (4 months of working on the slaughter floor of a meat factory = second year visa..LOL)
when the missus gets back ill consult lol
cheers for the definate advise of yes. lol thanks :D

lol yeah well they werent actually meant to start processing the app's before april 1st, dunno why they started early, and yeah i sent a email off earlier which tbh sounded absolutely terrifing if i was to recieve it in my inbox lol. asking them about a possibility of a phone interview, got the managers direct email in the email so sent it back to that. think theyre gonna start waking up over there soon so ill just wait and see :D

and about the writing a book thing, ive always thought id write my memoirs down one day, maybe i should start at the age of 21 lol, could breathe life into it being written so young haha :D

cheers for all of the advice guys,

me and the missus have chatted about it and decided we're gonna go to new zealand anyway. lol regardless of if i get the job, i have family over there anyway and i havent seen them since i was like 5 but ones really nice and the other one is a farmer i think, hopefully i can work on his farm or something. :D
anyway we're gettin the visa's next week and planning it all again, good thing i am yet to stop living out of me backpack eh. lol

oh and on the relationship front, yeah its fairly serious (dont get me wrong when i said 'settle down' i meant just not be living for a few weeks at a time in random hostels b4 gettin the nightbus sumplace else -- its a hard life i know right :P )) she was all willing to break up with me when she flew off to australia but AHA! andy got a plane out like a week later mwahahahaha, worked out in the end its been almost 2 years lol.
so thanks :D ill keep ya all updated on the progress of the migration :P

Well lets just hope you write emails better than you post on forums :p

I'm glad you have made a decision. Sounds awesome and I am insanely jealous :)

Is it easy to get working Visa's for NZ and Oz then?

lol on the writing of emails front no i really am rubbish at writing haha, one of the reasons i didnt continue with my a-levels.

and on the visa front, YES my friend. soo easy its almost laughable when you look back on it from a beach front bar it 30 odd degree heat in your shorts and flipflops. its ace. basically go to the immagration portions of the respective country you would like to apply for, look or search for WHV (or working holiday visa) and apply, you fill out some stupid questions, the best one being::
'are you or have you everr been part of any military or terrorist organisation?', now as im ex military this held my application up by 3 weeks. lol.
after you fill out the form it 'should' take less than 48hours to be granted a 1 year visa for oz, your looking at £10 an hour minimum in oz (and i mean minimum-my gf worked in a bar and was on £13 an hour)
for new zealand you get a 2 year visa but the minimum wage is less but the cost of living is sooooo much lower it works out the same.
roughly the prices for visa for oz is : around £80 i think, and £45 for new zealand. awesomeness. :)
