So first of all does anyone know what i'm talking about? Who's done it in the past and who is doing it this year?

Toughguy for those that dont know is a cross country race with a few small obstacles and puddles to get through in aid of a small animal sanctuary and charity just north of birmingham. Its been running for about 20 years during the winter and in 1998 a "toughguy lite"(yeah right!) was decided upon and named "Nettle Warrior". This has been going every summer since (instead of winter like the original toughguy).

My uncle introduced me to it about 6 years ago and i finally got round to doing it in 2004. I found it so easy i decided to go the next year and i have just paid for the pleasure ;) of doing it this year as well.

Heres a couple of pictures of the small obstacles and puddles graciosly aquired from the above site

So as i said before anyone done this? If so are you going this year?

All that is easy for me, the only thing that would push me is doing that plus a 5-10 mile run.

Below 5 mile no problem

Seems cool anyway, i done stuff like that when training for the army at 16 :)

Where is it? Their website is rubbish.

You noticed huh? Im never quite sure if they do that on purpose or not!

The course is actually damn hard and very muddy. I finished it in 3:20 which is about the middle time, the fastest being just under 2 hours. Its actually really fun, admittedly in the "i'm never going to do that again" sort of way, then a couple of months later you sign the form for the next year :p

Its positioned just to the north west of wolverhampton and is on sunday 30th july.

If your into cross country running or even dont particularily like running (i dont) you will probably really enjoy it.

perhaps we could get a couple of OUCK teams to go this year?

Its about 6 miles i think and as there are a lot of people doing it the run normally slows down in a couple of places. Then you hit the slalom...

The rest of its really fun, the obstacle course is the main reason i go, they reckon its bigger than the para and commando ones, all i can say is its BIG.

Just dont go home on public transport after, you usually smell a bit, and im not talking sweat... :p

Man that looks awesome, and only 6miles of xc with obstacles, if only it wasnt so far away i might consider doing it, something for the future!
